This seminar will explore the extraordinary circumstances -- historical and natural -- which brought Champagne wine into being. We will focus on history, terroir, traditional method, the grapes, and wine styles. Students will come away understanding the Champagne method, the Appellation structure, but perhaps most importantly, a detailed understanding of the nuances which make Champagne the wine for all of our happiest moments! 6 extraordinary wines will be tasted which show the character and diversity of Champagne. No prerequisites; just bring your enthusiasm for sparkling wine!
