Service Description

An in-depth study of Spain's wine-producing regions including: grape varieties, origin of cultivars, geological exploration, vine cultivation and viticulture, history of the regions winemaking, food specific to each region, and regulations for wine categories. Six weeks of lectures and one review session for this course will take place in the virtual classroom, with a sensory evaluation of representative wines assessed in an in-person tasting lab, before the exam. A materials fee will be assessed. Students must be 21 years of age to participate in wine tasting. Tuition: $850 Tuition includes six, 3-hour classes + 2 review sessions (22 hours of instruction), a certification exam, study manual, and Wine Scholar Guild online learning modules. Class meets in-person Sundays & Mondays: July 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 2024 Review session (via zoom): Sunday August 4, noon-2pm Exam: Sunday, August 18 Join Master educators, Tanya Morning Star and Alberto Martinez-Interiano. Tanya was the first educator with a long-standing passion for Spanish wines, she was the first to offer the Spanish Wine Scholar in the world and has been teaching the program ever since, Alberto Martinez-Interiano is a native Spanish speaker who spends much time in Spain. He is one of only a handful of Official Sherry Educators in the US and was one of the first in the world to become an Official Rioja Wine Educator, and so much more.
