Service Description
An in-depth study of Italy's wine-producing regions including grape varieties, the origin of cultivars, geological exploration, vine cultivation, and viticulture, history of the region's winemaking, food specific to each region, and regulations for wine categories. Sensory evaluation of representative wines assessed in each class. Students achieving a combined score of 75 or greater on Unit I and Unit II exams will be awarded the internationally prestigious title of Italian Wine Scholar and may use the post-nominal, IWS. Must be 21 to register. 2024 Class Dates (Sundays & Mondays 6-9 pm): October 20, 21, 27, 28 November 3, 4 Review: November 17 on Zoom - noon-2pm Exam: December 1, 6:30-7:30pm Course Registration Fee: $850 (paid to Cellar Muse upon registration) This course will be co-taught by Tanya Morning Star, IWS, and Alberto Martinez-Iteriano, IWS. Tanya and Alberto are also Italian Wine Ambassadors.
