Service Description

Join Cellar Muse for the most in-depth study of French wine offered: The French Wine Scholar Certification program. The course includes ten three-hour classes, once per week for ten weeks and two virtual exam prep/review sessions. Study France's wine-producing regions, grape varieties, geology, viticulture, and history. We will also explore the foods of each region and the regulations for wine categories. Sensory evaluation of representative wines assessed in each class -- e.g., we will practice tasting and understanding all of the major French wine styles! What is French Wine Scholar? The French Wine Scholar education program is the most advanced, comprehensive, and up-to-date French wine course available. The syllabus takes a regional approach and discusses all French wine appellations and the factors that shape their identities. The program provides committed students of wine with an unparalleled set of study tools that are designed to maximize learning and boost knowledge retention. The Wine Scholar Guild is an internationally recognized certification body for advanced wine learning for French, Italian, and Spanish Wines. Upon the completion and successful passing of respective examinations, the scholar receives a diploma, and the right to add the post-nominal FWS (French Wine Scholar) to their name. Cellar Muse is the approved provider for the Wine Scholar Guild certification programs in Washington State. Instruction for this course will be provided by Seattle's most heralded educators: Tanya Morning Star & Reggie Daigneault!
