Janet Beeby is a certified sommelier who can’t stop talking about wine and food and the magic they can make together. She also enjoys writing and teaching about far-flung wines and winemakers to show people just how fun and approachable wine can be.
She believes wine is more grocery than luxury, and that it doesn’t have to break the bank to be thoroughly enjoyable. She is continually exploring and developing new and engaging ways for people of all interest levels to learn about and enjoy wine.
Most recently Janet has been working as the wine director at Halfseas, a little neighborhood bottle shop in Ballard. She got her start as wine director and teacher at The Pantry, a community kitchen in Seattle, and worked at Bin 41, a wine shop in West Seattle.
Janet is certified through the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. She is also a French and Spanish Wine Scholar, certified through the Wine Scholar Guild.
